Case study
- Ø 50 mtruss ring
- 24.4 mcentral tower; 4 × 18.2 m around it
- 20lift points
- 58 tballast
The challenge
A 50 m aluminium truss ring of 3 rings and 8 spokes, carrying the "umbrella" décor and 64 lighting fixtures (1.4 t). It was assembled on the ground and lifted at 20 points onto one central and 4 perimeter scaffold towers, all sensitive to wind.
What we did
The stage and umbrella design (drawings, 3D model, assembly plans, material lists), the rigging and lifting plan, the independent structural verification, the towers, ring, spokes and 16 custom hinge plates, with a rigging supervisor and scaffold crews.
The result
The structural verification, to SR EN 1990, EN 1993 and EN 1999, confirmed the 4 + 1 tower layout with concrete-slab ballast. Built 19-29 June, dismantled 5-8 July 2023.
