1. Who we are

The site https://saltbox.ro and the tool SBX Rigging Calc (the "Tool") are provided by SALT BOX S.R.L., Bucharest, Romania ("SALT BOX", "we"). Contact: contact [at] saltbox.ro, +40 735 552 ···.

By using the site you accept these terms. By creating an account you also accept the Privacy Policy.

2. The site and the Tool

The site presents SALT BOX's projects and services: photos, 3D models and augmented reality (AR) viewing.
SBX Rigging Calc is an online guidance tool for preliminary estimates in rigging and temporary event structures: loads on hanging points, truss moments, bridle and sling forces, block and tackle, wind and ground pressure.
The Tool is available to logged-in users only, with an active account.

3. The Tool is not a structural calculation

Results are indicative only. They come from simplified models, manufacturers' published tables (e.g. Prolyte H30V) and rules of thumb from the rigging literature, applied to the data you enter.

The Tool does not account for every real load and condition: wind on the structure, real dynamic effects, tolerances, the condition and certification of the equipment, connections, supports, stability, and so on.
It does not replace the design and calculation of a qualified engineer, the check of a competent person under the applicable standards and regulations, or the manufacturers' instructions.
You are responsible for verifying the results before any real use. Never use them as the only basis for decisions that affect the safety of people or property.

4. Your account

4.1. Creating an account

You create your account yourself, through the sign-up form. It becomes active once you confirm your email address through the link we send you (valid for 48 hours).
At sign-up we ask for your name, email address, a password, your country and your professional role. Company, phone and how you heard about SALT BOX are optional. Subscribing to news is optional, with the box unticked by default.
Accounts are personal and meant for professionals aged 18 or over. One account belongs to one person.

4.2. Your obligations

Keep your account details true and current.
Keep your password confidential, and tell us at once at contact [at] saltbox.ro if you suspect misuse.

4.3. Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account, with or without notice depending on severity, if:

these terms are breached;
the account details are false;
the account is used in an automated or abusive way;
there is a security risk.

You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

4.4. The free plan and Pro

A free account gives you 10 calculations a month in the main tools (Truss, Rig plan, Truss check, 2-Point, N points, Cantilever, Bridle, Site). One calculation is up to 30 minutes of work in one tool; within that time you can change the inputs as often as you like. The simple tools (Forces, Sling, Moment, Pulley, Trim) have no limit. The counter shows in the Tool and on your account page and restarts at the beginning of each calendar month.
Pro removes the limit. You can buy it monthly or yearly. The current prices are on the SBX Rigging Calc Pro page and are shown before you order. Pro never starts without your order.
7-day free period. The first Pro subscription ordered on this site, monthly or yearly, starts with 7 free days. The free period is given only once: once per person, per account and per card. If your account has already had a free period, on the site or in the app, the subscription is paid from the start. If the same card has already had a free period on another account, the free period ends at once and the subscription is paid from that moment; for this check we keep only an irreversible hash of the card fingerprint Stripe gives us, from which the card cannot be rebuilt; we never receive the card details. The card is asked for when you order. If you cancel within the 7 days, with "Manage subscription", you pay nothing. 3 days before the free period ends we send you a reminder e-mail. After the 7 days the subscription is paid and renews as described in section 4.5.
You pay by card on the secure page of our payment processor, Stripe. We never receive or keep your card details. Invoices are issued by SALT BOX S.R.L.

4.5. Renewal and cancellation

A monthly or yearly subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel it.
You can cancel at any time with the "Manage subscription" button on the SBX Rigging Calc Pro page. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period; until then Pro stays active.
If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a few days. If it still fails, Pro stops and the account returns to the free plan.
Deleting your account also ends the subscription.

4.6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer (an individual not acting for a business or profession), you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the order, without giving a reason, by writing to contact [at] saltbox.ro (subject: "Withdrawal").
If you asked for Pro to start right after payment, on withdrawal you pay only for the time used until then. We refund the rest within 14 days, by the same payment method.
Businesses and professionals have no right of withdrawal.

4.7. Refunds

Apart from a withdrawal under section 4.6, payments are not refundable. The exceptions are a payment taken twice and an interruption of the Tool through our fault lasting more than 7 consecutive days within a paid period; in those cases we refund the amount, or the proportional part.

4.8. Changes to prices and plans

A new price applies to existing subscriptions only from the next period, after 30 days' notice by email. If you do not agree, cancel the subscription before the change.
If we significantly reduce what Pro includes, we will tell you 30 days in advance. You can cancel the subscription and we refund the proportional part of the unused period.

4.9. Pro bought in the phone app (App Store, Google Play)

In the SBX Rigging Calc app for iPhone and Android, Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), charged by Apple or Google to your account with them. The prices are the ones the app shows before you subscribe. The first subscription can start with a 7-day free period; if you cancel before that period ends (on iPhone, at least 24 hours before), you pay nothing.
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it on the phone: on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends; on Android, in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Apple or Google handle the payment, failed payments and refunds, under the App Store or Google Play terms; for the iPhone app, Apple's standard licence for apps (Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies alongside these Terms. Refund requests go to them (reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google Play). Sections 4.4 (payment), 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7 apply only to payments made on this site.
Pro bought in the app works for your saltbox.ro account, on the site too. One store subscription belongs to one account. Deleting your account does not stop the App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it on the phone.

5. Permitted and prohibited use

You may use the Tool and its results in your professional work, subject to section 3. You may not:

copy, reproduce, distribute or offer the Tool or any part of it to others, including as a service;
reverse engineer or decompile it, or extract its code, formulas or calculation methods;
access it by automated means (scripts, bots, scraping, calls to the server outside the interface);
circumvent its protections or usage limits;
use it to build a competing product;
remove copyright notices;
frame the site or the Tool in other sites, or overload the server.

6. Intellectual property

The Tool, its code, the calculation methods it implements, its texts, graphics and design are protected by Romanian Law no. 8/1996 on copyright and related rights and by other applicable laws.
The site's content (photos, 3D models, texts, the SALT BOX logo and name) belongs to SALT BOX or our partners and may not be copied, bulk-downloaded or used for any other purpose without our written consent.
No right passes to you beyond the right of use in these terms.
The data you enter in the Tool remains yours. You allow us to store and log it as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Usage log

For security, to protect the Tool and as evidence of the inputs, we log the use of the Tool for each account: date and time, module, the values entered and a summary of the results. Details and retention: Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

The site and the Tool are provided "as is", with no warranty of accuracy, completeness or availability.
To the extent permitted by law, SALT BOX is not liable for direct or indirect damage resulting from using the site or the Tool, or from being unable to use them, including from using results without the verification required in section 3.
For paid plans, to the extent permitted by law, the total liability of SALT BOX is limited to the amounts you paid in the previous 12 months.
These limits do not apply to liability for intent or gross negligence (Art. 1355 of the Romanian Civil Code), for death or personal injury, or where the law forbids such a limitation.

9. Availability

We may interrupt the site or the Tool for maintenance or updates and change them; for Pro, section 4.8 applies. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always published on this page, with its date. If you have an account, we will tell you about important changes by email. If you keep using the Tool after the new version takes effect, you accept it. For paid subscriptions, important changes take effect 30 days after the notice; if you do not agree, you can cancel the subscription before then.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. We will first try to settle any disagreement amicably at contact [at] saltbox.ro. Failing that, the competent courts in Bucharest decide. Mandatory consumer rights are not affected. Consumers can also turn to the Romanian consumer protection authority (ANPC), including for alternative dispute resolution: https://anpc.ro/ce-este-sal/.
