saltbox.ro uses no advertising or tracking cookies and loads no third-party analytics. Our visit counter works without cookies (see the Privacy Policy, section 3).
What we store in your browser
__Host-sbx_sess - session cookie
- Type: first-party, strictly necessary cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax).
- Purpose: protects the account forms against forged requests and keeps you logged in after you sign in.
- When it is set: only on the account pages (sign-up, login, password reset, your account page) and in the calculator. The site's presentation pages set no cookies.
- Duration: until you log out or close the browser. The session expires after 12 hours of inactivity. If you tick “Stay signed in” when you log in, the cookie lasts up to 30 days after your last visit.
__Host-sbx_oauth - cookie for signing in with Google / Apple
- Type: first-party, strictly necessary cookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=None).
- Purpose: ties the return from Google or Apple to the browser where you pressed "Continue with …", so nobody can sign you in to someone else's account.
- When it is set: only when you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple".
- Duration: 15 minutes.
sbx-rig-v1 - browser local storage (localStorage)
- Purpose: remembers the unit (kg / kN), the open tab and the values you entered in the calculator.
- Where: on your device only. Its content is never sent to us; the values you calculate reach the server only for the calculation itself (see the usage log in the Privacy Policy).
- Duration: until you clear it in your browser settings.
The calculator's cache (service worker)
- Purpose: fast loading of the calculator (icons and app files).
- Duration: until the next calculator update, or until you clear it in your browser.
Legal basis
These items are strictly necessary for the service you explicitly request: your account and the use of the calculator. Under Art. 4(6) of Romanian Law no. 506/2004 they need no consent, which is why the site shows no cookie banner. If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first.
How to remove them
- Logging out ends the session.
- You can delete the cookies, local storage and cache of saltbox.ro in your browser settings at any time. You will then have to log in again.
